EVS has announced the acquisition of MOG Technologies, which specialises in file-based and software-defined video solutions.

According to the company, the acquisition will strengthen its cloud-based services, enabling EVS to broaden its premium live production ecosystem by expanding its file-based ingest and transcoding capabilities.

MOG Technologies' almost 50 staff based in Portugal will be integrated into EVS.

The acquisition represents a value, including an earn-out mechanism, totalling below 5 million. The transaction is subject to certain closing conditions, which are expected to be fulfilled by Q4 this year, the companies said.

The product range of MOG Technologies not only complements EVS's existing portfolio, but will also help to quickly integrate software-defined ingest capabilities and introduce new transcoding features, both on-prem or in the cloud, in line with the Balanced Computing strategy of EVS. This solution is meant to serve the evolving needs of our customers.

EVS has also confirmed it has made a strategic investment in Belgium-based TinkerList. The transaction value, including capital increase and loans, represents a total investment of below 3 million, said the company.

TinkerList's Cuez is described as the world's first cloud-based rundown management system, designed to connect with a wide variety of production devices.

Speaking about the investment, Erik Hauters, CEO of TinkerList, said: This investment will allow us to further extend the scope of our application to increase its relevance across a wider set of productions, while maintaining the same level of simplicity in usage. The strengthened partnership will help us to expand globally, thanks to EVS's direct and indirect worldwide footprint. Moreover, this investment from a solid broadcast leader demonstrates the sustainability of our company.
