Video Europe invests in 40 channels of Sony HDC-500 system cameras as it scales up UK operations

Video Europe, the specialist broadcast rental firm, has today announced that it has bolstered its existing Sony camera line up with a multi -million investment in Sonys HDC-2500 system cameras. The 40 channels of Sonys HDC-2500s will be utilised across Video Europes rapidly expanding dry hire, specialist projects and OB businesss as it scales up its portfolio to exploit on an expected high demand in 2014. This investment rounds off a year of continued expansion for Video Europe which has committed over £4 million in Sonys latest camera technologies.

Video Europe prides itself on embracing industry-leading production tools and formats to offer its customers the best choice on the market. Its latest investment in Sonys HDC-2500s bolsters the companys already impressive Sony portfolio, which includes both XDCAM decks as well as Sonys Super 35mm 4K CineAlta F5 and F55 cameras.

In an asset intensive industry such as the media and broadcast rental sector its absolutely essential to have access to the latest and most cutting edge equipment on the market. When Sony unveiled its PMW-F5 and PMW-F55 cameras last year we knew instantly that they would be one of the hottest products of 2013 and represented the leading-edge large sensor cameras on the market. We were quick to capitalise on the phenomenal popularity of the F Series, and are pleased to now be expanding our fleet even further with this investment in Sonys latest system cameras, commented Steve Green, Managing Director at Video Europe.

Our newly acquired Sony system cameras have already been integrated into our OB fleet in time for the action-packed schedule of UK live production events next year, and will also be used to support our continued investment in cross hire.

The HDC-2500 is Sonys flagship live production camera, featuring 3G 1080/50P transmission as standard, as well as a 2/3-inch CCD sensor. The cameras ability to record in multiple formats from 1080/100i to 1080/24p makes it one of the most flexible and adaptable cameras currently available.
