ToolsOnAir Broadcast Engineering Announces New Software Releases

Vienna - January 5, 2015 ToolsOnAir Broadcast Engineering announces new version releases to their revolutionary TV Station in a Mac just: Broadcast Suite. All customers currently under Maintenance and Basic Software Support are eligible for these upgrades. Existing 1.7.x just:in multi licenses and existing 1.8.x just:play/live licenses will work with this releases. New license codes are not needed.

just:in multi Version 1.8.0

The following improvements and enhancements are introduced in Version 1.8.0:

OS X 10.10 Yosemite support as well as support for the latest driver versions from AJA and BMD.

The ability to enter of a legal timecode value to trigger an End-of-Recording event. During the recording process you can enter a legal timecode value that is in the future in order to automatically stop a recording on that given timecode.

A new Loop Recording mode available to both capture instances. Once selected the recording process will loop until the end of the given chunk length (up to 12-hours) and automatically continue to record into the same file from the beginning, while granting access to the content at any time. This is only available for recording into the old QuickTime (not AVFoundation) container.

A new Preferences panels for both Just In QuickTime Engine and Just In Multi GUI. The Names tab is now part of the Just In Multi GUI preference panel to further reduce setup complexity.

Preliminary support for AJA KONA 4 has been added. AJA Corvid 88 support to follow shortly.

Version 1.8 introduces ToolsOnAir's new MXF muxing technology for just:in multi and live:cut with full support of all MXF OP1a based containers and professional codecs (IMX, DVCPRO HD, XDCAM EX, XDCAM HD/HD 422, AVC-Intra). A separate MXF license file from MXF4mac is no longer needed. The ToolsOnAir MXF option fee is still in place.

The following improvements and enhancements are introduced in Version 1.8.2:

OS X 10.10 Yosemite support as well as support for the latest driver versions from AJA and BMD.

It is now possible to preview MXF files natively in the library and inspector previews and when dragging the timeline. This completely eliminates the need for a 3rd party QuickTime based MXF decoder.

Live input is now available for channels where the RTMP output streaming is enabled.

just:play only Features

When dropping a playlist from the library onto the timeline, the same extended key options (cmd, alt, ctrl) are available as when dropping onto the calendar view. (just:play only)

It is now possible to right-click a video in a playlist and create a new playlist beginning with the selected item. This is useful in for parsing long playlists into smaller logical segments as well as when a movie needs to be started at a fixed time. (just:play only)

just:live only Features

Various new and improved MOS/Newsroom related features especially in combination with the Octopus newsroom system. (just:live only)

Video only keyboard mapping option to just:lives preferences -useful for all of customers using just:live for video play out only (just:live only)

The F3 keyboard option can now trigger movies with Hold Last and Play Next and Hold Last and Cue Next next actions even when the movie is not on the last frame. In this case the hold action is ignored and the next item is either cued or played immediately. (just:live only)

Improved the overlays used in the timeline for videos with the Hold and Play Next and Hold and Cue Next end actions. (just:live only)
