Lightware, an industry leader in signal management solutions, is strengthening its commitment to sustainability through a series of people-focused ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives. The ESG framework is a set of standards used to evaluate the performance, sustainability and ethical impact of a company, whilst measuring its accountability on these issues.
While Lightware is best known for pioneering audiovisual technologies, the company believes sustainability goes hand in hand with innovation it's not only about technology, but also about people and our responsibility for the environment. Recently, Lightware has expanded its ESG efforts to empower local communities and encourage the next generation of women in tech, helping to shape a more sustainable future.
We see sustainability as an integral part of who we are it is a responsibility to help the communities around us, says Gergely Vida, CEO at Lightware. By empowering young people, supporting local organizations, and engaging our employees, we're building a culture where people, technology, and the environment grow together.
As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting diversity in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Lightware participated in Girls' Day events in April and October. Girls' Day is a nationwide initiative in Hungary that offers young girls aged 12 18 the opportunity to explore careers in science and technology through interactive talks, workshops, experiments, and panel discussions.
Lightware joined the initiative in the belief that sustainability includes providing equal opportunities and supporting future generations. The event serves as inspiration for the next generation of female engineers to explore the vast career opportunities in technology.
The April event was held at Lightware's Budapest headquarters, where the team welcomed groups of young girls to discover technology, meet female engineers, and gain hands-on industry experience. The October event was held at an external venue, featuring booths from many STEM companies. There, attendees could speak directly with female engineers. Lightware also hosted a dedicated workshop offering valuable insight into the professional world.
In September, Lightware held its annual Volunteer Day, where employees took part in community service activities. This year, the team spent the day painting rooms at a local homeless shelter, helping to create a more welcoming space for residents. Every Lightware employee receives one paid day per year to participate in volunteering, reflecting the company's belief that sustainability extends beyond business to supporting communities.
Continuing its ESG roadmap, Lightware recently hosted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Game in collaboration with COLLAB Mentoring. The playful workshop introduced employees to the global sustainability objectives defined by the United Nations in a game-based format. The game encouraged participants to identify actionable ways the company can further its own sustainability goals. These ideas will help shape Lightware's ESG priorities for the coming year.
Furthermore, Lightware has once again received the Lovable Workplace hungarian award in 2025. Out of more than 3,000 applicants, only 200 companies earned this recognition, making it a significant honor. The award acknowledges both public votes and the evaluation of a professional jury based on HR, ESG, and employer branding practices.
Building on the success of these initiatives, we plan to continue strengthening our overall ESG strategy, adds Vida. By investing in education and community, Lightware is proudly building a more inclusive and sustainable future.
