Widely adopted Media Shuttle solution provides the foundation for distributed content storage and related services
LEXINGTON, MA - September 15, 2017 - IBC2017, Stand 14.L08: Signiant, the leading provider of SaaS solutions for fast, reliable global access to high-value media files, today announced that some of the media industry's most innovative emerging technology providers will be showcased with the company's SaaS platform at IBC 2017. One such partner, GrayMeta, brings the power of cloud intelligence tools to metadata extraction and asset management.
The GrayMeta solution can connect to content repositories in multiple storage locations, employing a broad range of cloud-based AI and machine learning solutions to search, discover, and catalog content based on various attributes. Signiant and GrayMeta have both aligned their solutions with the desire of modern media enterprises to employ the most cost-effective tool for every task. This mindset generally leads to a highly distributed approach to content storage and management, with on-prem infrastructure 100% utilized and bursting to the cloud for peak demand. Solutions from Signiant and GrayMeta are specifically tuned for these distributed, hybrid storage environments.
Many media companies now deploy dozens of Media Shuttle portals, often with different types of storage in multiple locations around the world, said Margaret Craig, CEO at Signiant. Our platform provides the unified storage virtualization view required for a distributed storage model, and once that's in place our customers look for related services that can be applied across the entire content pool. For example, the ability to search and categorize distributed assets is of great interest - and GrayMeta is doing some of the most innovative work in the space.
