Cloud approvals rough Aframe

Endemol production company Initial is using the cloud to get executive approval for content on its celebrity game show Your Face Sounds Familiar. Video clips, and the entire 75 minute programme, are uploaded to Aframe as soon as they are available, allowing producers to sign off or check progress within hours not days.

The UK version of the show is shot at Elstree Studios by BBC Studios and Post Production. The 75 minute show is uploaded to Aframe immediately after recording, in around seven minutes. Once online an H.264 browse copy is created, and executives anywhere in the world can pick it up to review on any device with a web browser.

The show involves six celebrities impersonating famous singers (the picture is of athlete Denise Lewis as Tina Turner), and video clips of rehearsals and development performances are also packaged by post house Crow TV and uploaded so that producers can keep track of progress. Initial has found that using Aframe helped eliminate nearly a full day spent waiting for review content to arrive, as well as saving shipping costs.

Aframe is a great way to view footage quickly and efficiently, according to executive producers Nic McNeilis and David Staite. The fact that you can now view on any device from iPhone to iPad to desktop while ensuring all footage remains secure is really reassuring and beneficial to production.
