American Cinema Editors, ACE International Committee and TEMPO Bring Big Picture Perspectives to EditFest Global

Acclaimed Editors from Around the World Share Insight and Experience During a Dynamic On-Line Event (Los Angeles) September 25, 2025-American Cinema Editors (ACE) and its International Relations Committee, in collaboration with global editing organization TEMPO, will bring expansive international perspectives to the upcoming EditFest Global. Known for offering rare access to knowledge, opportunity, and community, EditFest events feature world-renowned editors in interactive panel discussions and networking sessions, both in person and online.

Launched in 2008, EditFest is central to ACE's mission to honor editors and their craft, while inspiring and supporting the next generation of storytellers.

International Committee Co-Chairs Michelle Tesoro, ACE, Avril Beukes, ACE, and Michael Ruscio, ACE noted that, The ACE International Committee is thrilled to collaborate with our TEMPO colleagues to present Global Editing Perspectives. We are confident that editors across the continents will benefit from this engaging and encompassing discussion.

A collaborator of ACE and EditFest Global, TEMPO is a global federation of film editing associations representing more than 8,000 film and TV editors in 35 member organizations across six continents.

EditFest Global goes live online October 4 with the opening session Global Editing Perspectives: A Collaboration with TEMPO and ACE and features a power-panel of editors from around the world. Eoin McDonagh, ACE (Ireland) will moderate the panel that features Luisa Maria Martinez Arcaraz (Mexico), Nitin Baid (India), Sylvie Landra (France), Simon Njoo (Australia), and El sabet Ronaldsd ttir, ACE (Iceland).

A full day of panels, breakout sessions, and demonstrations continue. While the Global Editing Perspectives panel with Tempo sets the stage for an international conversation, the rest of this year's EditFest Global programming is equally groundbreaking. For the first time in its history, ACE is collaborating directly with sound artists and the Cinema Audio Society (CAS) in a special session, In Sync: The Art of Picture and Sound. This unprecedented panel brings together editors and sound teams to explore how rhythm, emotion, and storytelling are shaped in partnership-a behind-the-scenes look at the heartbeat of cinema.

Equally exciting, EditFest Global welcomes content creators with millions of followers to the program for the very first time. Tony Zhou and Taylor Ramos, the duo behind the viral channel Every Frame a Painting, will lead sessions on editing essays for online platforms, underscoring how digital storytelling is redefining the craft and reaching audiences on a massive scale.

Together with the international voices from the Tempo panel, all sessions showcase not just the global reach of editing but also the evolving ways editors and storytellers are influencing culture across mediums and platforms.

EditFest Connect LA took place on August 23, 2026, at Disney's Grand Central Air Terminal with a packed day of in-person panels, conversations and connect with incredible editors.
