BVE sees PHABRIX innovation increasing

BVE sees PHABRIX innovation increasing UK based test and measurement innovator PHABRIX used BVE as a slingshot for NAB announcing several new enhancements and innovation across its Sx hand held and Rx rack mount test and measurement instruments.

Priced at an amazingly cost effective £1999, PHABRIX has started shipping its new hand held TAG bringing PHABRIX quality and industry recognition to a complete set of testing interfaces. Whether it is SD-HDI and HD-SDI, optical via its SFP cage or analogue - yes analogue PHABRIX have now created a new hand held to test most broadcast infrastructure needs.

The TAG comes complete as an analyzer/monitor with support for SD and HD. Should you need to add 3G or a generator then it is as simple as purchasing a software option.

The TAG has a comprehensive audio toolset including full support for metadata, levels and logging of Dolby E, D and D Plus. Dolby recently endorsed the PHABRIX hand held range, including the TAG as the successor to its now discontinued DM100 and with the new interfaces, it is set to be a world beater.

Not only has the hand held range been enhanced, PHABRIX has also been working on its innovative Rx rack mount monitoring system. Comprising of the dual integral screen 2U Rx 2000, the 1U Rx 1000 and the demi Rx 500, the Rx instruments can be configured with modules offering a broadcaster or SI a choice in sophisticated monitoring capability. With 1920 x 1080 output via HDMI or SDI, the Rx range provides a multi-viewer type display of 16 instruments per channel. The maximum number of channels being 8 for the Rx2000 and Rx1000 - 4 of these channels available on-screen simultaneously perfect for OB.

At the show PHABRIX previewed its new V9 upgrade due for release end of March 2014. Prominent at the show was the high resolution waveforms and video gamut display. With 1920 x 1080 display, PHABRIX s new full screen waveforms look set to be the standard in quality display for the industry.

Other new features in the Rx rack mount toolset included multi-channel closed caption display 608/708 and OP47. Very few devices are able to decode OP47, making the PHABRIX Rx range a stand out product.

Audio capabilities within the Rx toolset provide a single box solution for audio/video monitoring with new lissajous, Loudness and Dolby E, D and D Plus support on display. Dolby decode is also available with the provision of a new audio module which can be bundled with a 4AES module to provide Dolby support at a very attractive price.
