Plasma TV, a new mobile production provider, has launched its services in Mendoza, Argentina. Their first truck has debuted equipped with five Ikegami HDK-95C Full Digital HDTV portable CMOS camera systems.
Founded by Gustavo and Maximiliano Iriart, Plasma TVs mobile unit is a 9.5-meter (31-foot) truck servicing live entertainment and sporting events in Argentina and Chile. Among other highlights, a major stop for Plasma TV will include the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
In addition to the five Ikegami HDK-95C cameras already on board, three additional HDK-95Cs will be added to Plasma TVs inventory in the months to come. A Grass Valley router is also present, along with an Orad PlayMaker slow motion video server.
Part of Ikegamis Unicam HD line, the HDK-95C HD portable digital camera is equipped with Native multi-format 2.5 million pixel, 2/3 inch CMOS sensors. It also features an upgrade path to 24p and 3G formats, including 1080/60p and 4:4:4 24p.
In addition, versatility is a key component of the HDK-95Cs design: providing end-to-end digital processing, it features a low-profile docking camera head for fiber, triax, or wireless applications.
The Ikegami HDK-95C was the ideal camera for the introduction of Plasma TV, says Maximiliano Iriart. It met all of our requirements for a broadcast camera providing world class image quality. The fact that it is 3G ready means it will serve Plasma TV and our clients well into the future.
