CSN Philadelphia, NBC0 Unite To Better Serve Regional Sports Fans

No matter the year, few cities can rival the unbridled passion and intensity of Philadelphia sports fans. Now, thanks to a new programming partnership between Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia and NBC10 Philadelphia, those fans will have greater access to the teams and players they love - and love to hate.

Beginning in January, CSN Philadelphia will produce sports reports for NBC10's multiple daily newscasts, totaling more than 700 per year. The partnership aligns CSN Philadelphia's dedicated all-sports staff with the station's newsgathering, weather, and traffic expertise and benefits both outlets' relationship with the larger NBC Sports Group.

We will incorporate NBC10's broadcast needs seamlessly in our production schedules, without disrupting our workflow, says Scott Faccenda, VP, operations, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. This will result in NBC10's viewers receiving the same award-winning news and analysis that CSN Philly viewers have come to expect from us.

Comcast SportsNet will produce and provide complete sports coverage for NBC10 newscasts and contribute by providing inside access to coaches, players, and more. Station journalists will continue to contribute to Comcast SportsNet's sports coverage on Philly Sports Talk, SportsNite, Full Contact, and other programs.

As a result, WCAU, a television staple across the Delaware Valley, will have access to the most comprehensive sports-TV operation in Philadelphia and resources that no other broadcast affiliate in the region can match.

In February, NBC10's Vai Sikahema will travel to the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, and provide coverage for both WCAU and CSN Philadelphia. Sikahema will report on the Olympic drama as it unfolds and provide updates on local athletes going for the gold.

Stateside, station meteorologists Sheena Parveen and local celebrity Glenn Hurricane Schwartz will continue to provide weather forecasts for CSN Philadelphia's on-air and online daily sports coverage.

CSN Philadelphia, part of NBC Sports Regional Networks, broadcasts Sixers, Flyers, Phillies, and Union games, as well as multiple NCAA teams in the region. WCAU is the local home for signature sports events, including the upcoming Olympic Games, Sunday Night Football, the U.S. Open golf tournament, the NHL Stanley Cup Finals and regular-season coverage, horseracing's Triple Crown, and more. Together, the two plan to deliver comprehensive local sports coverage to a demanding audience.
