VMware Cloud Management Achieves Rapid Customer Adoption, Market Leadership
VMware Cloud Management solutions are resonating with customers leading to accelerating sales of the VMware vCloud Suite. VMware Cloud Management license bookings were VMware's strongest growing product area in Q2 2013. Since the beginning of 2012, the customer installed base has tripled.

According to market research firm IDC, VMware was named the leading cloud systems management software vendor based on 2012 software revenues1. In the report, Worldwide Cloud Systems Management Software 2012 Vendor Shares, IDC determined that VMware was the cloud systems management leader with 20.5 percent market share. Driving market growth in 2012 was enterprise and service provider customers' expanded use of cloud automation, monitoring, and analytics across their virtualized datacenter environments, according to IDC.
Cloud Management Innovation Delivers on Customers' Virtualization and Cloud Strategies
At the heart of the success of VMware Cloud Management solutions is the focus on helping customers realize their virtualization and cloud agendas through a new approach to management and rapid, sustained product innovation. Purpose-built for the era of cloud computing and the software-defined data center, VMware Cloud Management solutions are recognized for patented analytics and an integrated and innovative approach to policy-based automation, log analytics, IT financial management, and performance, capacity and configuration management. Traditional solutions are not going to be the foundations upon which the management stacks for virtualized data centers, the software-defined data center, and hybrid clouds will be built, said Bernd Harzog, analyst, The Virtualization Practice. VMware is making its industry leading cloud management solutions more accessible to customers. VMware vCloud Automation CenterTM and VMware vCenterTM Operations Management SuiteTM capabilities are now featured in all editions of the newly announced VMware vCloud Suite 5.5. Additionally, the just announced VMware vSphere with Operations ManagementTM 5.5 integrates capacity planning, performance and health monitoring technology with VMware vSphere. Since the beginning of 2013, VMware has delivered 12 new and enhanced category-leading products.

Accelerating customer adoption of VMware Cloud Management solutions has drawn an ever-growing number of partners into the VMware ecosystem. These partners are benefiting from the increased manageability of the VMware vSphere platform enabled by these solutions, as well as their heterogeneous capabilities and their extensibility to additional technology domains. In addition to providing new solutions and technologies, VMware is working with these partners to help transform their businesses to better serve their customers as they progress on their journey to the software-defined data center and the cloud.
After growing its cloud management partner ecosystem by 50 percent in 2012, VMware is on pace to double its network of management partners in 2013. VMware is also working closely with strategic partners to embed VMware Cloud Management solutions into existing practices or build new practices based on these solutions.
VMware Previews New Cloud Management Solutions at VMworld
Today's VMworld VMware keynote will preview the next-generation of VMware Cloud Management solutions including VMware vCloud Automation Center, VMware vCenterTM Log InsightTM, VMware vCenter Operations Management SuiteTM and VMware IT Business ManagementTM. VMware president and chief operating officer Carl Eschenbach and team will showcase state-of-the-art technology that is transforming IT by virtualizing and automating compute, storage, networking and security across private and hybrid clouds. In today's demonstration, Carl will showcase how VMware Cloud Management solutions enable self-service access to application services and their automated provisioning across hybrid clouds, as well as automated operations management leveraging both structured and unstructured data.
