THALES' BARCELONA FACILITY IMPROVES ENERGY EFFICIENCY THANKS TO PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT INSTALLED IN 2022

Thales Card Personalization Center, located in Parets del Vall s, in Barcelona improves its energy efficiency thanks to the investment made last year through ERDF funds, in line with Thales strategy to reduce C02 emissions to zero by 2040.

In 2022, the installation of the 100kWp photovoltaic plant was carried out, consisting of 214 photovoltaic panels thanks to which the energy consumption of the entire plant has been reduced.

The project involved an investment of more than 115,000 and was financed by ERDF funds. This aid amounted to 10,720 with a self-consumption target of 12%.

One year later, there has been a self-consumption of 10.74% obtained between April 2022 and April 2023 with respect to 2021.

The energy generated has been used to supply the entire factory and a smaller percentage to offset surpluses.

This initiative is aligned with the Thales Groups corporate strategy to reduce all CO2 emissions by 2040 and has been made possible in part thanks to funding from the European Regional Development Fund: Low Carbon Economy.
