Opens new, 464,000 square-foot Harris Technology Center

Weeklong Technology Expo showcases companys latest innovations across 30 key technologies

Celebrations recognize contributions of companys 6,000 engineers including 2015 Harris Fellow Dr. Tim Dimmick

PALM BAY, Fla., Feb. 23, 2015 Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) is celebrating National Engineers Week, Feb. 23-27, by recognizing its 6,000 engineers and scientists with a grand opening of its new $130 million Harris Technology Center (HTC) and its 2015 Technology Expo showcasing the companys most innovative technologies and solutions. The company kicks off the week with the formal opening of the new 464,000 square-foot HTC, which serves as the companys Florida technology innovation hub, housing more than 1,400 engineers and staff. Construction of the center created nearly 300 local jobs. It is certified in highly efficient design and construction; contains state-of-the-art conference facilities and engineering labs; and houses modern health and wellness facilities, including a gym and cafeteria. Featured guests during the Feb. 23 grand opening will include Florida Senator Bill Nelson and other national, state and local dignitaries. Throughout the week, Harris will conduct its 2015 Technology Expo, featuring exhibits and demonstrations of more than 30 technologies developed to serve customers across eight global markets. The invitation-only event enables customers and technologists from around the world to learn about Harris innovations. The company also will host seminars and contests that are designed to highlight innovative thinking. Customers, students, and faculty from Florida universities and local high schools are invited to attend presentations, tour the Technology Expos demonstrations, and hold career discussions with Harris engineers. This is a very special week in the companys 120-year history. As part of the weeklong events, the company named Dr. Timothy Dimmick the 2015 recipient of the Harris Corporation Fellow Award the companys highest recognition for engineering achievement. Dimmick, a 13-year Harris employee and senior scientist with the Harris Government Communications Systems segment in Palm Bay, Florida, will be honored at the companys annual Fellows Banquet.
