Disney's much talked about streaming service Disney Plus will launch in the UK and Ireland, Germany, France, Italy and Spain on 31st March.

Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed a number of other countries in the region will also get access to the streamer at the same time.

As has been previously reported, Disney Plus launches in the United States next week (12th November).

In the UK and Ireland, the DisneyLife streaming service will be rebranded as Disney Plus.

Disney hasn't revealed how much the new SVoD will cost, although viewers in the Netherlands, where it has already soft-launched, are paying 6.99 a month.

On a call to discuss Disney's fourth quarter earnings, Iger said the company was very pleased with the results from a pre-launch trial of Disney Plus in the Netherlands. He said the service had earned praise for elegance and ease of the interface and the quality of the overall experience.

Iger also revealed the company has signed a deal with Amazon to distribute Disney Plus on Amazon's Fire TV service. Iger said Disney also has deals with Apple, Microsoft, LG and Google.
