Vizrt integrates ArabiaWer services data into Viz Wer platform

The new relationship gives Middle East broadcasters the ability to present highly accurate local weather data from across the region.

Looking to help broadcasters keep their forecasts as accurate as possible, Vizrt has partnered with a number of weather services around the world to use their weather data to create highly accurate maps and weather graphics with the Viz Weather 3D real-time weather platform. The latest of these partnerships is with ArabiaWeather, Inc., a meteorological company headquartered in Amman, Jordan, that provides timely weather services to all Arab countries as well as thousands of cities and locations around the globe.

It's clear that weather is one of the most important parts of a newscast, so more and more broadcasters are looking for cost-effective solutions that benefit viewers and their bottom line, said Yousef Wadi, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at ArabiaWeather Inc. We've been getting a lot of requests from our customers to develop a tight integration with Viz Weather to help improve the presentation of their weather forecasts, so this partnership was formed and we believe it will be a win-win for everyone involved.

Viz Weather is an open system that can work with a wide variety of weather services and related real-time weather data, and offers advanced visualization possibilities in both HD and SD resolutions. Users can also combine weather data services and directly feed them into the Viz Weather application to improve the accuracy and enhance the meteorologists' presentations. In addition to integrating with a broad range of weather-data providers, users can trigger graphics and animations to launch automatically. An intuitive GUI allows users to easily control, switch, and manipulate the data. The solution is fully integrated with Viz World for creation of branded high-quality maps.

The benefit of this relationship is that Arabiaweather has really accurate local data from across the Middle East, which allows many of the local channels to present more accurate data, said Petter Ole Jakobsen, Chief Technology Officer at Vizrt.
