BURBANK, Calif. - April 15, 2015 - KCETLink Media Group, the national independent, non-profit digital and broadcast network, announced today that the critically acclaimed U.K. series MR. SLOANE, will make its U.S. broadcast network premiere with two back-to-back episodes in Southern California on May 7 at 10 p.m. PST on KCET. A special marathon of all seven episodes will be telecast nationally on May 17 at 8 p.m. EST/ 9 p.m. PST on Link TV (DirecTV 375 and DISH Network 9410). The series stars Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, The Worlds End) in the 60s set comedy-drama created, written and directed by Emmy Award-winning Robert B. Weide (Curb Your Enthusiasm).

MR. SLOANE features a tip-top supporting cast including Olivia Colman (Broadchurch), Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary), Peter Serafinowicz (Whitechapel, Guardians of the Galaxy), Lawry Lewin (Dr. Who), and Brendan Patricks (Downton Abbey).

A bittersweet comedy-drama about a buttoned-up man in crisis, MR. SLOANE begins its story in 1969 where Jeremy Sloane is at the end of his rope - literally. Hes been fired from his accounting job and his wife Janet has left him to find herself. Despair is setting in. Most evenings are now spent at the local pub, drowning his sorrows with childhood friends. But with a potential job opportunity on the horizon and a chance encounter with a free-spirited young American woman, Sloane might just have a shot at getting his life back on the right track.

The premiere date on KCET (Southern California) will feature the first two episodes running back-to-back at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on May 7, followed by two episodes on May 14 and the final three episodes airing on May 21.

The premiere date on Link TV (DirecTV channel 375 and DISH Network channel 9410) will host a marathon of all seven episodes on Sunday, May 17 at 8 p.m. EST and 9 p.m. PST, followed by encore presentations starting at 8 p.m. EST/PST on May 19, 20, and 21. The series will be streaming on KCET.org and LinkTV.org concurrent to the broadcast.

MR. SLOANE was awarded the Special Jury Award at the La Rochelle TV Fiction Festival in 2014.

The acquired series from Sky TV in the U.K. originally aired in May of 2014 and is a Whyaduck/Big Talk Production.
