Construction begins on Ningbo Metro Line

Construction on the 1st phase of the Ningbo Metro Line 2 began about a month ago, and its underground section is expected to open for service in November. The first phase will have a total length of 28.35 km with 21.605 km underground, and 22 stations starting from Ningbo Lishe International Airport station and ending at Qingshuipu Station.

High-speed train technology was primarily used during the construction of phase 1, which will improve comfort during the ride.

Line 2 will be the second metro line in Ningbo. It starts near the Ningbo Lishe International Airport and will stretch eastward through underground tunnels. After reaching Youngor Avenue it turns northwards and passes Ningbo Textile City, after which the route zigzags into the Ningbo Bus Center and then goes eastward while crossing Ningbo Railway Station, the main railway station of the city. Then the route extends northward into Jiangbei District and turns eastward until it reaches Lulin Market, where it turns into viaducts before reaching Zhenhai District. The line will go further into Xiaogang Township, which will be built during the 2nd phase of construction.
