RTVE and Vicomtech perfect automatic subtitling M s de la mitad de los subtituladores de TVE participan en pruebas conjuntas durante seis meses en el marco de Impulsa Visi n Empresas, el sandbox de RTVE.
Las unidades de Accesibilidad y de Ingenier a Soporte de Accesibibilidad of RTVE y la direcci n de Tecnolog as del Habla y del Lenguaje Natural of Vicomtech, centro tecnol gico de investigaci n aplicada y referente especializado en Artificial Intelligence, Visual Computing & Interaction, han efectuado pruebas para mejorar la calidad y la productividad en el campo del subtitulado autom tico, en el marco de la I Convocatoria de Impulsa Visi n Empresas enfocada hacia la Accesibilidad de los Contenidos Audiovisuales.
The platform IDAZLE genera subt tulos de contenidos audiovisuales pregrabados de forma autom tica, y se basa en un enfoque mixto que combina algoritmos e inteligencia artificial. En concreto, ya es capaz de transcribir a texto el audio de m ltiples contenidos audiovisuales, as como de capitalizar, puntuar y segmentar dichas transcripciones.
Se ha evaluado la calidad de los subt tulos en distintos programas de TVE y la eficiencia de postedici n del subtitulado autom tico. Adem s, las pruebas han servido para recoger sugerencias de mejora efectuadas por las unidades de TVE que han participado.
Pruebas sobre el terreno Como hecho diferencial del procedimiento utilizado, cabe se alar que se ha contado con la colaboraci n de un 57% de los subtituladores de TVE, que han posteditado individualmente cuatro contenidos audiovisuales distintos, sin conocimiento previo de IDAZLE.
Los resultados han sido muy prometedores. Por un lado, se ha constatado que IDAZLE proporciona una transcripci n clara e inteligible, y la calidad media evaluada se sit a en 4 puntos sobre 5. Ello implica que, de media, tan s lo necesita posteditarse entre el 10% y el 25% del texto transcrito. Y, por otro, se ha comprobado que el tiempo medio de subtitulado se reduce a casi la mitad en relaci n con el subtitulado manual, y se duplica la productividad media.
IDAZLE tiene por delante potencial de mejora, tanto de perfeccionamiento de la plataforma como de la formaci n y entrenamiento de sus usuarios. RTVE y Vicomtech van a continuar colaborando para conseguir una soluci n que se convierta en referencia dentro de la radiodifusi n espa ola y, a su vez, que sea perfectamente v lida para cualquier entidad que necesite subtitular contenidos audiovisuales grabados.
Impulsa Visi n Empresas es la iniciativa de RTVE dirigida a entidades consolidadas que deseen colaborar con la Corporaci n de forma pr ctica, probando en las instalaciones y equipos de RTVE sus proyectos y productos innovadores en el campo tecnol gico del sector audiovisual.
