Dailymotion, one of the biggest video platforms, has signed an exclusive deal with London Wasps Rugby Football Club to bring new sports content to its global audience of 120 million.

The move comes as part of a complete overhaul of Wasps' website and content production. Wasps will use the Dailymotion player for the content that they upload on Wasps TV, a dedicated video section on the new website. The videos created by Wasps will also be available on the Dailymotion site, where they can be easily viewed and shared by fans around the world.

Initially, fans will have access to a back catalogue of 175 videos and this will rise significantly as more content is created by the club and uploaded. Content will include interviews with coaches and players, training clips and commentary on match highlights. New clips will be added every couple of days to keep content fresh and relevant for fans.

The deal allows London Wasps to decide what content can be shared on Dailymotion and of that, which will carry advertising.

Jeremy Wilton, Chief Operating Officer at Wasps RFC, said: Our new website will deliver a great new experience for our fans with Wasps TV providing regular new content. Working with Dailymotion allows us to take high-quality video to fans around the world, as well as those that never miss a match. Their strong international presence and popular sports offering made them the obvious choice of partner but they were also very accommodating of our needs, giving us the flexibility to choose which content would be shown on the Dailymotion site and decide which videos should run advertising.
