First commercial launch in Australia for Nokia's WiFi Beacon solution

Solution promises to help Unitis country-wide customers move beyond the traditional challenges of whole-home coverage with all-pervasive Wi-Fi performance

Sydney, Australia - Nokia and Uniti Group's Retail brands including FuzeNet, HarbourISP and Uniti Broadband, have announced the first commercial launch in Australia of Nokia's WiFi Beacon. Utilizing mesh technology, Nokia's Beacon 1.1 solution will allow Fuzenet and HarbourISP to provide residential customers with superfast and reliable Wi-Fi coverage throughout the home.

The Nokia solution, which is a combination of local and cloud-based Wi-Fi optimization, helps achieve the best overall Wi-Fi performance for residential customers.

Nokia second generation WiFi Beacons, Beacon 1.1 (Wi-Fi 5); Beacon 2 and Beacon 6 (Wi-Fi 6) use algorithms to detect and mitigate potential issues in the home in real-time. The Beacons always select the strongest Wi-Fi channel, and ensure that client devices are connected in the best possible way to maximize the end-users' broadband experience. The Wi-Fi network can be seamlessly extended by adding Beacons to avoid any dead spots in the house. A mobile app brings ease of installation and management to the end-user. The Nokia WiFi Cloud Controller gives helpdesk agents a real-time holistic view on the in-home network to solve any customer query quickly and efficiently. The Cloud Controller also gives the network operations team a proactive tool to fully optimize the Wi-Fi parameters for the best performance.

Nokia WiFi Mesh Middleware is the foundation of its Beacon 1.1 solution. The mesh creates a seamless Wi-Fi network throughout the home, self-optimizing and instantly self-healing when it detects any problems to guarantee the best Wi-Fi performance.
