FRANCIS TELLIER RECEIVES Honorary achievement AWARD

Outgoing HBS CEO Francis Tellier has been awarded with a honorary achievement award on the first day of the 2018 SATIS-Screen4All Expo in Paris, on 6 November.

Tellier, who has been succeeded as HBS CEO by Dan Miodownik, retires after almost 20 years at the helm of the organisation - during which the company has delivered the host broadcast of five FIFA World Cup events, three Asian Games (winter and summer), an America's Cup and numerous other events in sports from tennis to triathlon, marathon to motorsport, across all five habitable continents.

Receiving the award from Mediakwest's Stephan Faudeux, Tellier expressed his gratitude for the recognition, which marks and exceptional 40 years of service in the broadcast industry. His career began as an engineer at Radio France, before joining ORTO92, the host broadcaster of the Albertville '92 Winter Olympics. After three more years at Radio France, Tellier was appointed General Director of TVRS98, host broadcaster of the 1998 FIFA World Cup France , before creating HBS in 1999.

This is the first time that an individual honorary award has been given at the SATIS-Screen4All Expo, with the decision made to honour a figure whose vision has been weaved in the development and dynamism of the media and entertainment industry.

The French-language SATIS-Screen4All EXPO runs over 6-7 November at the Les Docks de Paris, Saint Denis, and features keynote speeches - including a forum on UHD-HDR led by HBS' Etienne Godart - workshops and the third edition of the 360 Film Festival, celebrating the best in VR and 360 content.
