Digital Alert Systems, the global leader in emergency communications solutions for media providers, today announced that Ed Czarnecki, the company's vice president of global and government affairs, has been elected to the board of directors for the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC). As a member of the board, Czarnecki will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization.

Czarnecki s extensive career in emergency communications and public safety is anchored by his current role at Digital Alert Systems, where he has managed the company s public and international sector strategies and driven initiatives in standards, regulatory policy, and government affairs for nearly 15 years. In addition to his roles at ATSC, which also include co-chairing its Implementation Team on Advanced Emergency Information, he serves as chairman and executive director of the NextGen Video Information Systems Alliance (NVISA). Czarnecki is also a member of the FEMA IPAWS advisory working group, as well as the Canadian Alert Technical Working Group. Previously, he served on numerous federal advisory committees, including the FCC s Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council and FEMA s National Advisory Council, contributing significantly to the evolution of public alert and warning systems in the U.S.

Our newly elected directors will serve three-year terms beginning January 2025. They join a board that guides ATSC in its mission to develop next-generation broadcast standards and foster innovation in the industry. This election cycle was very competitive, and we appreciate all the effort the candidates put forward to have a voice in guiding ATSC's evolution and the high participation in the process by our members.
