RTI Unveils the Extraordinary XP-8 Advanced Control Proceor

The industrys most powerful remote control processor will debut at the CEDIA Expo 2007 EDEN PRAIRIE, MN-July 5, 2007 - Remote Technologies Inc, the leading control systems manufacturer, announced today the release of the new XP-8 Advanced Control Processor. The XP-8 is a high-end remote control processor for automating the operation of electronic systems in homes and office buildings. The combination of a blazing fast MPU, real-time/multitasking operating system, and unlimited expandability make the XP-8 the perfect solution for large-scale and complex projects.

The XP-8 Remote Control Processor interfaces seamlessly with all RTI remote controls and touch panels, acting as the brain behind the expanded RTI control system. Features include an abundance of basic control ports such as infrared, contact closures and power sensors, in addition to providing advanced control interface options such as two-way RS-232, USB and Ethernet interfaces. Internet connectivity allows the convenience of off-site monitoring and control of all systems, lights and security devices. The connection also allows the custom installer or RTI's technical support to send firmware upgrades to the processor insuring the end user effortless access to the latest, most advanced version going forward.

The XP-8 incorporates a powerful 32-bit, 200MHz XScale processor and 32MB of non-volatile Flash memory for faster response and advanced command storage. The sizable memory capacity allows for more system configurations and command storage and will retain all stored information and programming in the event of a power failure.

The XP-8 interfaces with all RTI modules as well as industry-standard IR emitters and may be either rack or stack mounted.
