Talpa production arm in hollywood Simon Jones has been named CEO of Talpa Media USA, it was announced today by Dutch media entrepreneur John de Mol. De Mol who created The Voice among other international hit shows, is starting the new production company which will focus on the American TV market. Talpas worldwide formats include The Voice, The Winner Is... and Dating in the Dark.

Jones started his career as a film lawyer, worked in television for over 20 years: at first in the UK, with companies like ITV and Fremantlemedia, later with SYCO Entertainment, both in the UK and the US. Jones served as Controller of Business Affairs at ITV, Executive Producer of American Idol with Fremantle and Senior VP Operations for The X Factor and Got Talent at SYCO. Among many other achievements, he ran one of the most successful ever UK arena tours based on the X Factor franchise and a live stage version of Americas Got Talent in Las Vegas. In the last two years as COO he helped found SYCO USA.

About his appointment as CEO of Talpa Media USA, Simon Jones says, I consider it a real privilege to be working here in Los Angeles at the very heart of the media business.
