Beltelecom has connected the 100-thousandth subscriber of ZALA terrestrial television 30.12.2015

On December 29, 2015 in Postavy the 100-thousandth subscriber of ZALA terrestrial television was congratulated. Tatyana Pasechnic, a citizen of Postavy, was congratulated by Mikhail Kulga, Deputy Director of Vitebsk Branch of RUE Beltelecom. He presented to the jubilee subscriber a gift certificate from Beltelecom for free connection and usage of terrestrial digital television broadcasting access service with the connection to additional thematic packages Detsky , Poznovatelno-razvlecatelny , Filmovy , Dlia dushi for 1 year.

The service ZALA terrestrial television is provided in partnership and using digital transmitters of RUE Belarusian Radio and Television Broadcasting Center (RTBC) as a separate basic package Standart TV . It includes 17 commercial TV channels with limited broadcasting time up to 20 hours per day (from 6 am to 2 am).

The cost of access to the Service amounts to 36 000 BYR and a monthly fee for the basic package (17 commercial channels) with the provision of end connection equipment 39 000 BYR. Additional thematic packages viewing is charged separately.

The project was launched on October 2013. By the end of 2013 there were only 11 RTBC broadcasting in DVB-T2 standard on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. The first regions, where subscribers could use ZALA commercial terrestrial television were Vitebsk, Minsk, Mogilev Regions. Currently 89 RTBC broadcast ZALA terrestrial television packages on the whole territory of the Republic of Belarus. In 2015 subscribers were provided with CAM modules along with digital set-top boxes. Today about 500 subscribers have CAM modules. CAM modules are given to subscribers, who have a cable box with DVB-T2 tuners and CI-slots of I+ standard embedded.

To receive the terrestrial television service one should have a receive antenna, mast (pole, bracket) installed. One can acquire the equipment and make an order for the abovementioned equipment installation in the service centers of RUE Beltelecom. The possibility to provide the service is determined on the basis of the coverage map of commercial digital terrestrial broadcasting available on the website of RUE Beltelecom (http://zala.by/karta-okhvata) and RUE Belarusian Radio and Television Broadcasting Center.

By the end of 2015 digital broadcasting of DVB-T standard covered 99 % of the territory of the Republic of Belarus. The implementation of DVB- 2 technology in Belarus was carried out in October, 2013, and currently the technology DVB- 2 covers about 97% of the population of the republic.
