
A third of all households paid for content streamed in 2018 One of every five Spaniards saw programs and issued under "a la carte" format on the Internet, Youtube being the preferred option.
A third of all Spanish households used a payment platform to consume audiovisual online content at the end of the fourth quarter of 2018. Its virtually the same number as a year earlier according to the latest data from the Panel of households from the National Commission of the markets and the competition (CNMC).
The number of individuals who tend to watch online television programs already broadcast across platforms " la carte" remains also stable. Half of Spaniards confessed to opt for this type of consumption, data that hardly varies in recent years.
En cuanto a las plataformas used, Youtube is still the favorite with 52%, followed by Atresplayer (35%), RTVE.es (31%), Mitele (29%) and Movistar + (25%).
However, the trend is that the online audiovisual consumption continues climbing: 44% of individuals reported to view content via the Internet at least once a week, 8% more than at the end of 2017. And what they see the Spanish? The most commonly consumed are short videosfollowed by episodes of series, movies, and content generated by friends or relatives.
Regarding preferences on how to view the different audiovisual content, emissions live are virtually exclusive sporting events, for example, parties, football, basketball, tennis, and informational programs, while the "a la carte" options are chosen to see episodes of television series and films.
On the other hand, almost 9 of every 10 Spaniards sailed through Internet in the last three months and, of these, 72% were connected several times a day, indicator which shows an upward trend in recent years.
Smartphones Given the data, the mobile phone is the option preferred to connect to the Internet, so declared him 87% of individuals who use the Internet every week. The second option is laptop (52%) followed by the computer table and tablets, which use declined in the last year.
86% of individuals with mobile is a smartphone and used your device for different functions. The most popular were messaging services online (79%), networks social (38%), mail (33%), games and videos to be viewed.
In terms of social networks most commonly used, include Facebook and Instagram. The second was the only one who grew up in users for 2018, because at the end of 2017, it was used by 26% of individuals, and a year later by 32%.
