Astro Ceria's comedy telemovie SMK: Raya Dekat Jauh has won the Best Quarantine-Themed Drama/Feature/Programme Award at the inaugural ContentAsia Awards, beating out its Taiwanese contender, Unlocked. The award is Malaysia's only win.

SMK: Raya Dekat Jauh is a telemovie extension from Astro Ceria's comedy series SMK (launched in 2019) that centres around teenage students and the funny incidences they face in secondary school, featuring a stellar cast of young Malaysian talents Wafiy A'an, Fikry Kiki, Rykarl Iskandar, Mia Sara Nasuha, Erissa Puteri, Kashika Selvam, Arena Wan, Idan Aedan, and Aniq Iffat.

SMK: Raya Dekat Jauh is the first telemovie in Malaysia that was shot remotely within 6 days in its entirety. The nine (9) young talents, who are aged between 12 to 20 years, shot all the scenes on their own using mobile phones, with guidance from director, Shamyl Othman, via a virtual call. The cast had to take on the production roles of DOP, lighting, audio, props, wardrobe and makeup with help from their family members at home.

When screen-based content was at its peak demand due to audiences' inability to leave their homes due to the Movement Control Order, we leveraged on the situation by creating our first-ever telemovie shot remotely, SMK: Raya Dekat Jauh.
