OJSC Vimpel?om and peiker present the results of testing ERA-GLONA telematics units

Moscow, August 28, 2014 - OJSC Vimpel om (BeeLine TM) and peiker acustic GmbH & Co. KG announce completion of testing ERA-GLONASS on-board telematics units. The primary objective for the Russian wireless service provider and the global automotive supplier was to ensure routine switching from BeeLine profile to ERA-GLONASS profile in the special units.

The results prove the new units are fully operational.

Thanks to installing BeeLine's multi-profile SIM chips developed by Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, in a peiker telematics platform, automatic switching to ERA-GLONASS profile was completed successfully after a road accident to transmit the emergency call from the terminal installed in the vehicle to the emergency services switchboard.
