HULU Acquires Rights For First Two Series Of RT S LOVE/HATE 10 December 2012: RT is pleased to announce that the American online video service HULU has acquired the rights to Love/Hate.

HULU has acquired the rights to the first and second series from ITV Global Entertainment which represents Love/Hate on behalf of RT and Octagon Films. HULU is an online video service that offers a selection of hit shows, clips and movies at Hulu.com, numerous destination sites online, and through their ad-supported subscription service. Other popular dramas hosted on HULU include The Wire, Homeland, Grey's Anatomy and Downtown Abbey.

The announcement means that the popular Irish drama Love/Hate will be available to an American viewing audience on a much wider scale. HULU will launch the first two episodes of the first series of Love/Hate in the coming days and will release two subsequent episodes each week thereafter. HULU has previously screened some of RT 's factual titles including Secret of the Stones and The Man Who Shot Beckett but the acquisition of Love/Hate marks the first drama deal. To date the first and second series of Love/Hate have also been broadcast in Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East. Australia and South Korea have confirmed purchase of the third series.

An average audience of 720,600* viewers watched the latest episode of RT 's hit series Love/Hate last night (Sunday 9 December), with a reach of over 1 million viewers.** Since it aired last night, 34,000 streams of the episode have been watched on the RT Player to date. The fifth episode of the current series saw Lizzie (Caoilfhionn Dunne) mourning the sudden death of her brother Ray (Jim Murray) and Darren (Robert Sheehan) and Siobhan (Charlie Murphy) sharing a guilty kiss while Siobhan's partner Tommy (Killian Scott) lay in a coma.
