Mzansi's biggest electronic festival, Ultra South Africa, is set to return in March 2023 following a three-year hiatus. The festival last took South Africa by storm in 2020, one month before the country went into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets for the festival are set to go on sale on Friday 23 September.

ULTRA SOUTH AFRICA RETURNS! In 2020, Ultra South Africa was one of the few music festivals to take place before President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a nationwide lockdown in March. International electronic acts Afrojack, DJ Snake and Steve Aoki were among the artists on the lineup.

Grammy award-winning producer Black Coffee, Chunda Munki, Da Capo, Sho Madjozi and gqom pioneer DJ Lag were also on the lineup. As per IOL, Ultra South Africa is ready to return to Mzansi in 2023 after a three-year absence.

Three years of no world-class international DJs, no Ultra Angels, no over the top fireworks and pyro and only those epic three-year-old memories to keep us all going. But not anymore. Ultra South Africa is back and ready to remind us why no other festival brand can compare.

WHERE WILL THE ELECTRONIC FESTIVAL TAKE PLACE? Taking to Twitter on Wednesday 21 September, organisers announced that Ultra South Africa will take place in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The event will kick off on Friday 10 March in Cape Town at the Kenilworth Racecourse. This marks the first time Ultra takes place at Kenilworth. On Saturday 11 March, Ultra will head to Johannesburg at the Expo Centre, Nasrec.

A lineup is still set to be announced for the festival.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW Tier 1 General Access tickets for the Cape Town edition of Ultra are R650 each. VIP Tickets are R1 000.

Tier 1 General Access tickets for the Johannesburg edition of Ultra are R695. VIP tickets are R 1000 while VVIP tickets are R3 000 each.
