UCL fixtures and results, 20 February Atletico Madrid 2-0 Juventus

Juventus have plenty of work to do to get back into their last sixteen tie with Atletico Madrid after the latter earned a 2-0 win in the Spanish capital.

Alvaro Morata thought he had given Atleti the lead just after the hour mark but VAR would see his goal chalked off, replays showed he had pushed Giorgio Chiellini. At full speed the contact appeared minimal but contact was certainly made.

The home side redoubled their efforts though and found their goal through an unlikely source.

Jos Gim nez headed home from a corner to give Atletico the lead in the 78th minute and moments later the skipper Diego Godin doubled the advantage from another set piece.

Jan Oblak needed to make a sharp save from a Ronaldo set piece late on and the keeper was given a busy end to the contest but held firm.

FC Schalke 2-3 Manchester City

(Photo by Paul ELLIS / AFP) Manchester City pulled off a stunning late comeback to take a slender advantage back to the Etihad in their last sixteen clash with German side Schalke 04 whom they beat 3-2 at the Veltins Arena.

Sergio Aguero gave City the lead inside twenty minutes but a brace of penalties saw Pep Guardiola's side go into the break 2-1 behind.

Nicolas Otamendi was sent off for City with less than half an hour to go making the English Champions task that much harder.

Leroy Sane lashed in a brilliant free kick five minutes from full-time to give City control of the tie.

Raheem Sterling showed great speed and awareness to finish from a long ball from Ederson to give City an unlikely victory.
