In Pakistan, the shaadi (Urdu for wedding) is a rite of passage that's often stretched out over multiple days with ceremonies, parties, and gatherings marking the merging of two families. The occasion has everything: delicious food, bright colors, friends, families, plenty of choreographed dances, and so much music. And Spotify is here to help kick off the party planning in Pakistan with our dedicated Shaadi hub.
The Shaadi hub, available to all Spotify Free and Premium subscribers in Pakistan, is your source for all the biggest hits of the season. It contains a collection of the top playlists created to soundtrack each part of the occasion. You can find the pre celebration Dholki Tappay playlist, the Baraat Entry and Dulhan Entry playlists for when the bride and groom enter the venue, and Rukhsati, which concludes the celebration and helps bid farewell to the newly married couple. And, of course, the ever-popular Mehndi Hits, Shaadi Bhangra, and Shaadi Hits will set the vibe for the pre-, mid-, and post-wedding celebrations. There's a little something for everyone-even the cousin who keeps wanting to steal the aux cable.

Shaadi isn't just a passing season; it's an integral part of Pakistani culture, Rutaba Yaqub, Spotify Senior Editor for Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, tells For the Record. Music assumes a vital role in every facet of a Pakistani wedding, from the spirited Tappay during Dholkis to the latest chart-toppers on the Mehndi dance floor. That is why we curated a Shaadi Hub-so you can soundtrack your mehndis, entries, dholkis, and more.
Over the last year, more listeners than ever have been turning to Spotify for their shaadi celebration fixes, with a 78% increase in user playlists around the globe featuring keywords like shaadi, dholki, mehndi, and baraat. Pakistan itself boasts over 7,000 user playlists dedicated to weddings, with a total of more than 156,000 worldwide. Top artists in Pakistan during the wedding season include Arijit Singh, Pritam, AP Dhillon, Kaifi Khalil, and the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Shaadi Hits in particular has emerged as the go-to playlist for wedding planners, with a 207% surge in overall listenership since August. Featuring favorites such as London Thumakda by Labh Janjua and Sadi Gali by Lehmber Hussainpuri, and with local tracks Nach Punjaban by Abrar Ul Haq and Shae Gill's Pasoori, the playlist provides an unforgettable experience during the course of events included in every desi wedding.
Whether you're perfecting your dance moves, picking out just the right attire, or simply soaking in the joy with family and friends, a wedding is a joyous time for all involved. And with the perfect collection of songs, it can be truly unforgettable.
Get the wedding magic started by pressing play on our Shaadi Hits playlist:
