Manchester United early team news: Walking wounded rally for Arsenal trip

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer received several boosts ahead of Manchester United's trip to the Emirates to face top four rivals Arsenal.

The Red Devils were sublime in midweek when a skeleton crew mounted a daring raid on the Parc de Princes and came away with a place in the last eight of the Champions League. In early Manchester United team news the club have been handed a quadruple injury recovery boost.

Anthony Martial is reportedly back in training and will be in contention to start against Arsenal while both Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic also in the frame for some involvement in a match that could go a long way towards determining next season's Champions League competitors.

The United gaffer also revealed that Eric Bailly has recovered from a heavy challenge by PSG's Marco Verratti on Wednesday evening.

Eric's fine, Solskjaer told a press conference on Friday. Anthony will be available and, hopefully, we'll have Nemanja and/or Ander ready as well, so we're looking better for it. They just need to have another couple of days' training with the team. They've done well in their recovery work.

Paul Pogba missed the triumph in Paris through suspension, though he was certainly part of the celebrations and the influential French midfielder will return to the XI to give the Arsenal defense some headaches.

Paul was over there training with us and in the dressing room and the meetings, so he wanted to be a part of that game, explained Solskjaer. It's great that he had a couple of days off after Southampton, so it was the least he could do!

Solskjaer dismissed any suggestion of fatigue pointing out that the Arsenal squad were in action on Thursday night against Rennes.

We're alright, stated the Manchester United manager. Arsenal played 24 hours later than us and, of course, it will be tougher for them, so we'll be ready for Sunday, definitely.

For Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is suspended after his tackle on Danny Rose in last weekend's North London Derby earned him his marching orders.

Danny Welbeck is not expected to line up against his former club as he remains sidelined alongside other long-term absentees Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding who are suffering from dodgy knees, no that isn't a technical term.
