TMRW Sports Appoints Brendan Donohue as President, Flag Football

TMRW Sports has named Brendan Donohue as President, Flag Football, where he will lead the company's professional flag football business in partnership with the NFL. Donohue will report to TMRW Sports Founder and CEO Mike McCarley and will relocate to the company's headquarters in Orlando.

Donohue spent nearly three decades at the NBA, including eight years in the NBA's Team Marketing and Business Operations group and seven years as President of the NBA 2K League, which he led from inception through growth from 17 to 25 franchises. He most recently served as a managing partner at Elevate's talent practice. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles with the Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Palace Sports and Entertainment.

TMRW Sports and the NFL plan to launch the professional flag football league prior to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The league has investment from all 32 NFL club owners, institutional investors, and current and former NFL players. TMRW Sports has also formed a strategic partnership with the International Federation of American Football, the IOC-recognized federation for flag football, including support for the 2026 IFAF World Championship in D sseldorf, Germany.

More than 20 million people play flag football worldwide, with approximately 4.1 million youth participants in the U.S. - a more than 50% increase since 2020. The sport is now offered at the high school level in 40 states, and more than 250 colleges and universities offer women's flag football programming. The NCAA has approved flag football as part of its Emerging Sports for Women program and voted to recommend Divisions I, II, and III add a National Collegiate Flag Football Championship as early as spring 2028.
