Because of this, we have longstanding support for Amazon's Import/Export feature for our high volume customers. This feature allows customers to send a hard drive with your source content directly to Amazon for upload to S3 storage. From there it is ready for processing by Encoding.com. Amazon has taken this feature one step further now with Amazon Snowball. Amazon Snowball is a purpose built storage device with 50TB of capacity. It's also self-contained, tamper resistant, and ready to ship without packaging. All data on the device is 256-bit encrypted. It has 10Gb connection and an e ink display. A single line in a command prompt and the device is live and ready for data. Once you fill the device with data it's ready to send back to Amazon as-is. Just have your delivery guy stop by and pick it up. Within a few days, all that data will be available on your S3 storage and ready for processing. One of the best parts of using Snowball is the cost. It's a flat fee of $200 every time you get an empty Snowball and fill it up with 10TB of data and send it back to Amazon.
