Cooke Optics brings acclaimed lens ranges to BSC Expo 2015 27 January 2015

Cooke Optics, the multi-award winning manufacturer of precision lenses for film and television, will bring its growing Anamorphic/i range to the BSC Expo in January, including the newly shipping 25mm and 135mm lenses. In addition, Cooke will present its miniS4/i range and 5/i series, both of which boast a new 21mm lens, and its flagship S4/i lenses.

The Cooke Anamorphic/i lenses, which are front-style true anamorphics, are enjoying great success; film projects currently shooting or recently completed with Cooke Anamorphic/i lenses include Spectral (cinematographer Bojan Bazelli ASC), Sinister 2 (cinematographer Amy Vincent ASC), Un Homme Id al (cinematograper Antoine Roch, AFC) and Straight Outta Compton (cinematographer Matthew Libatique, ASC).

All new Anamorphic/i, 5/i and S4/i lenses will soon include sensors for the forthcoming /i Squared Technology metadata system. The inertial system builds on the current /i Technology protocol supplying position and orientation data, in addition to lens data, to help VFX teams to better deal with common issues like occlusions, fast camera motion (motion blur) and other known challenges associated with fast paced camera motions.

Cooke is also enjoying the ongoing awards season, with wins and nominations for films and TV shows made using Cooke lenses including The Grand Budapest Hotel, Mr Turner, Paddington, Big Eyes, Whiplash, Game of Thrones, Fargo and Orange is the New Black.
