The Hood Internet and Scarlett i4: Bringing the Dance Party to a Town Near You!

The Hood Internet are two musicians from the Midwest who are best known for their mixtapes of mashups, blends, or whatever else you want to call them. Theyve mixed over 500 combinations of things and assembled many of those into continuous mixtapes. The Hood Internets mission is to bring the more dancefloor-friendly tracks to different cities with the intent of igniting peoples feet to move and they have instigated dance parties in clubs all over North America, and at festivals like Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, CMJ, SXSW, and Mad Decent Block Party. Theyve even brought the party abroad to South Korea and to Brazil. Theyve also collaborated on new material with a wide range of artists including Freddie Gibbs, Class Actress, AC Newman, GZA, Doomtree, Tobacco, and many more.

When we perform live Hood Internet sets, we use a traditional mixer and two MacBooks each running Ableton Live, and we each have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 sending audio into two separate channels of a mixer, similar to receiving audio from separate turntables or CDJs, etc. This allows us to use most clubs in-house mixer, regardless of whatever other DJ software setup they are equipped for.
