Award-winning media personality Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp has officially launched her new podcast, Boardroom Besties A Podcast About Women Who Inspire Us, on Wednesday 3 August. The launch of the podcast coincides with Women's Month in South Africa.

ELANA AFRIKA-BREDENKAMP LAUNCHES BOARDROOM BESTIES' Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp's Boardroom Besties is meant to create a safe space for women to share ideas and empower each other. The Jacaranda FM radio host is no stranger to podcasts, having produced South Africa's much-loved parenting podcast, Parent and Baby Brunch since 2016.

I'm launching this podcast to motivate women. I told myself what I would want my daughters to experience and who would I want to meet them professionally. Those are the types of women that I'm interviewing for the series, explained Afrika-Bredenkamp.

Parent and Baby Brunch is all about helping parents. Now, in tandem with that, we can also help women at work with Boardroom Besties. With Boardroom Besties, I want to motivate all women to be recognised and feel valuable.

PODCAST SERIES ABOUT WOMEN OF INFLUENCE' Taking to Instagram on 3 August, Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp explained that Boardroom Besties is a podcast series about women of influence .

We're asking about their biggest wins and losses and the definitive moments that shaped and changed their lives for the good, because this podcast aims to change other women's lives forever, too, she wrote.

There are many false narratives on social media today, pulling young women into the pressure of being someone that they are not, throwing them into a cycle of instant gratification.

We also pay tribute to the more than 20 000 women who marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956 in protest against the extension of Pass Laws to women. A system meant to control women even further and reduce women to passive beings, at the mercy of men, write the government in a statement.
