Following the launch of Coda Audio's ViRAY at the end of 2012, the company is seeing its new line array quickly gaining recognition and popularity. The first company to invest in this revolutionary system was German rental and production specialist, AMBION GmbH.
Having recently taken delivery of over 100 ViRAY components, AMBION now has a stock of more than 300 Coda cabinets and an inventory that can cater for any project, from the smallest to the largest.
During 2012, AMBION's sound department used Coda product on more than 250 different shows, including Deutscher Umweltpreis 2012, SPD Bundesparteitag 2012, Windsurf Worldcup Sylt 2012, Red Bull R.Evolution and supports for shows from Caligola, Olly Murs, Kraftclub, Kettcar, Bob Geldorf and Marina and the Diamond, dramatically increasing its Coda expertise.
The beginning of 2013 saw the company eager to pass on its experience, with head of sound, Michael Miwe' Wengerter, organizing a Coda System workshop to educate around 20 freelance technicians in the theoretical and practical aspects of different Coda products including AIRLINE LA12, ViRAY, Subs, CUE ONE and CoRAY, as well as RC20T amplification and EASE Focus. During the practical session, attendees were trained in rigging and ground stacking.
As a result of its outstanding audio performance, combined with its light weight, compact physical parameters and ultra quick rigging system, AMBION anticipates ViRAY, along with its SCV-F sub, becoming a staple workhorse for the company.
ViRAY can cover a broad range production sizes; a ViRAY system can be flown even in locations with small rigging points and ground stacking is also possible", explains Michael. "In my opinion, ViRAY is the first mid size array that can also be used as a ground stacked system, without hurting yourself. Three SCV-F Subs with four ViRAYs on top are an extremely powerful PA system or sidefill for larger stages.
"ViRAY is the result of tight Coda engineering and a lot of ideas and field experience that came from the user side," adds Jesko Purmann, one of AMBIONs managing directors. "The way Coda develops its products and its brand gives us the confidence that we are right to investment.
Now, with the completed Coda setup and our training workshops we look forward for a very good 2013 sound season."
