EVS MediArchive Director Scores UK First with input media

(10/09/2013) In a UK first, sports TV production specialist Input Media has invested in EVS' media archive management solution, MediArchive Director, to help power its new digital archiving service. The end-to-end ingest-to-delivery system, featuring a multi-tenant media archive management option, means Input Media will be able to offer cost-effective, centralised and secure archive services to multiple sports federations their first client for the service is The FA.

Catering to sports federations looking to preserve and monetise their valuable content, the solution will enable Input Media to extend its current high-quality archive services, without having to make huge changes to its existing infrastructure. MediArchive Director provides a software-based toolset and web platform so organisations can centrally manage multiple archive digitisation and content delivery platforms.

The key benefit of MediArchive Director is that we will be able to service multiple customers with a single archive system, allowing us to offer federations a cost effective asset management solution, said David Wood, Executive Chairman at Input Media. MediArchive Director will also help us streamline operations as it integrates seamlessly into our current EVS-based production environment. The sports specialist will use its existing EVS IPDirector production asset management system to create all the content, and then import it directly into MediArchive Director along with all the associated metadata.

The MediArchive Director system delivered to Input Media will rely on a complete set of virtualised servers to run the different applications and databases needed. It is compact and sustainable, and benefits from a low carbon footprint thanks to lower heat and power requirements.
