MIPTV AND CANNESERIES ANNOUNCE 2ND IN DEVELOPMENT DRAMA CREATIVE FORUM

Paris, 26 November 2018 - MIPTV and CANNESERIES, the Cannes International Series Festival, have opened the Call for Entries for the second In Development Drama Producers' Pitch.

MIPTV, the International Market for Content Development and Distribution, takes place in Cannes, France from 8-11 April 2019. CANNESERIES runs in the city from 5-10 April 2019.

Designed to act as an accelerator for content discovery and development at an international level, In Development is moving to the heart of MIPTV in the Palais de Festivals. There, over three and a half days, producers and creators will be given the opportunity to pitch their projects to key decision-makers, including commissioning editors, platforms, distributors, co-producers, investors and talent agencies, enabling them to connect and greenlight projects.

Through the international call for entries which opens today, In Development Drama Producers' Pitch will present a diverse range of quality projects from producers seeking development and financial partners, highlighting both fresh local voices and more established producers on the international scene.

As well as winning the opportunity to pitch a project to a high-level audience, the selected projects may be eligible for development funding from In Development's Official Partners:

Leading independent European producer, Federation Entertainment ( The Bureau ), will co-develop, co-produce and distribute one of the selected projects: The TV series is a genuine laboratory of creativity, and events like In Development, which put creatives at the heart of the business, are essential to engender the hits of tomorrow. The first edition was a success, both in terms of the quality of the content presented and the opportunities, which flowed from it. French investment fund La Fabrique des Formats will offer financing for up to two series from the selection backed by a French producer or co-producer.

In Development will also feature projects from emerging and seasoned writers with international ambitions, curated with the assistance of international writing residences and guilds.

A pre-selection committee will look at all entries before an international jury of drama experts chooses the projects that will be pitched on stage. The deadline for submissions is 11 January 2019, and candidates will be notified if their project has been selected in February.

In Development will also feature the third edition of the Drama Digital Short Form Series Pitch, round table meetings, a line-up of keynotes, masterclasses and workshops, plus other facilitated networking and one-to-one matchmaking opportunities.

There is definitely a strong appetite from throughout the industry to discover and invest in drama series at a very early stage.
