Prequel: Inside Out Director Alastair Siddons

My hope is that people will watch it and start a glue habit. With his documentary Inside Out: The Peoples Art Project premiering on Monday, May 20th on HBO, director Alastair Siddons sits down with us to talk about his filmmaking journey and his work with artist JR.

In the latest episode of our Prequel video series, in which filmmakers share their journeys to the Festival, Inside Out: The Peoples Art Project director Alastair Siddons shares his own backstory ("When I was about 14 I made up my mind that I wanted to do documentaries") and the challenges he faced bringing the full scope of artist JRs vision of a truly democratic art project to the screen ("We had to find a way of reducing it down to a few stories that captured the essence of the project.")

Siddons emphasizes that this project is ongoing: "Youll be able to watch the film and if you want to take part youll be able to take part...my hope is that people will watch it and start a glue habit."
