The Duchess of Sussex assisted One 25 Charity, an outreach service, by packing lunches. According to Kensington Palace, the lunch packages will be shared among sex workers on Bristol's streets. Meghan and Prince Harry braved the snow to meet members of the community.

They met with a 43-year-old former sex worker, Sam, who explained that she was groomed into the industry at the tender age of 15. It was hard for her to escape because her captors ensured that she ended up addicted to drugs.

She added that One 25 loved her when she couldn't love herself, and the charity helped her keep her children, her house and leave the industry for good.

Today, she works as a volunteer to help other women get off the street. She thanked the Duke and Duchess of assisting sex workers in Bristol and added:

It is amazing that they chose to come here. It is heartwarming and makes you think that these women are not forgotten and not cared about. I have been away from the street and away from drugs for 13 years. If you had told me when I was that girl that I would be meeting with the Royal Family, and they would be interested in what I had to say, that would have been alien.

Besides bananas bearing messages such as You are special, You are strong, and You are loved, The One 25 Charity also distributed food, clothes, blankets and condoms.

I saw this project this woman started somewhere in the states on a school lunch programme. On each banana she wrote an affirmation to make the kids feel really like, empowered, it was an incredible idea .

The positivity project, also known as Bananas for Hope, was initially launched by Stacey Truman, a cafeteria manager at a Virginia school in the U.S.

The mother-of-two made it her mission in life to boost students' self-esteem by writing positive messages on fruit, and the kind gesture motivated Meghan Markle to take those heartwarming messages to the streets of Bristol.

Kensington Palace (@KensingtonRoyal) February 1, 2019 As reported by Mirror, Truman has worked as the cafeteria manager at Kingston Elementary School in Virginia for more than 15 years. She wrote positive messages on her daughter's fruit while packing their lunch.

It was only later that she took the talking banana idea to work and soon students were queueing to buy fruit with motivational messages scribbled on the skins. Truman told Good Morning America:

They are our future so, why not? They need to hear all of this and be inspired every day.
