Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela has confirmed that former Rhythm City actor Mduduzi Mabaso, who plays a gangster Mgedeza in DiepCity has landed the role of Noxolo's brother Khulekani Nzimande in The Estate.

MDUDUZI MABASO: NEW ROLE TVSA reveals that the talented actor Mduduzi Mabaso, who currently plays the character of Mgedeza in Mzansi Magic's DiepCity plays Khulekani in The Estate.

The publication adds that the DiepCity star isn't leaving the Mzansi Magic telenovela for S3's The Estate but rather pivoting to this new role.

His character Khulekani is described as a dominant and fearless man., who's passionate and assertive and cares about his family and sister.

Viewers of The Estate met him when he broke into Castro's (Aubrey Poo) office and his arrival in town made Melisizwe and Noxolo suspicious, but he plays his cards close to his chest so they don't know what he's up to.

He decides to move into the Nobengela home and it makes everyone tense and nervous. Melisizwe cautions GK that they have a spy in their midst, add TVSA.

DIEPCITY' CANCELLED Black Brain Pictures' creative director Mandla N confirmed IN August this year that their award-winning telenovela DiepCity which replaced Isibaya two years ago has been cancelled by Mzansi Magic.

Mandla N told Daily Sun that the Mzansi Magic telenovela DiepCity has been a hit on South African television and introduced audiences to unique characters who have resonated strongly with fans.

DiepCity fans have played a big role in the success of the show over the past two years, and we are thankful for their support.

Executive producer Mpumelelo Nhlapo also said the production company has a slew of new and exciting shows in the pipeline that they're developing with their broadcast partners and that they can't wait to share them with viewers.

The cancelled telenovela received nine nominations at this year's South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs).
