Although the ever-popular Netflix series, The Crown, will come to an end after season six, there could be a few spin-off films in the works, The Sun reports. And Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's love story could be the focus.

POSSIBLE SERIES OF FILMS ON THE WAY AFTER THE CROWN' SERIES ENDS Fans eagerly await the sixth season of the hugely popular Netflix series, The Crown. But, now an insider has revealed that there might be a series of future films to look forward to, The Sun reports.

Although this sounds like a drastic change, it's one that proved a huge success for Downton Abbey, which ran for 52 episodes before continuing as two hit films.

Down the line, there's the option to revisit the 21st-century royals, perhaps focusing on Harry meeting Meghan and his fallout with William, the insider told the publication.

According to The Mirror, the show's creators could focus on the modern Royal Family for upcoming films. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's love story and even the bad blood between the Prince and his brother, Prince William.

Until now, the series focused on Princess Diana and King Charles' marriage ad subsequent divorce. It even featured the 1992 fire at Windsor Castle.

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN THE FINAL SEASON When the sixth season hits the streaming service, fans can look forward to seeing Prince William and Kate's relationship over the years.

The final season of The Crown will return with ten episodes later this year and feature actors Imelda Staunton (Queen Elizabeth), Sir Jonathan Pryce (Duke of Edinburgh), Dominic West (the then Prince Charles), and Elizabeth Debicki (Princess Diana). Ed McVey will play the role of Prince William, while Meg Bellamy will be seen as Kate.
