Sky Deutschland on demand for Android powered by Accedo

Sky Deutschland's Snap by Sky service for Android devices is being driven by Accedo's TV Everywhere (TVE) solution.

Accedo's TVE solution provides a comprehensive offering for media companies and pay TV operators to launch multiscreen applications. It is available on any device, including mobile, tablet, game consoles and smart TVs, and is pre-integrated with leading video platforms.

Snap by Sky, which was launched at the end of 2013, is available to existing customers as well as non-Sky subscribers and offers access to thousands of titles on demand from the Sky collection. This latest deployment enables viewers to access that same content on their Android mobile device. From April, Snap is available for the Samsung smartphones GALAXY S III and GALAXY S4, as well as tablets GALAXY Tab 2 and GALAXY Tab 3.

We are expanding our co-operation with Accedo and its TV Everywhere solution by adding support for Android devices, commented Mauro Di Pietro Paolo, senior vice president Information Technology, Sky Deutschland. Given the requirement for a fast time to market and proven solution, Accedo was a natural choice to partner with.

The service is supported by Accedo AppGrid, a cloud-based solution, which includes an intuitive management user interface, to manage, configure and analyse the application.
