Enjoy local and international premieres on Astro this Indian New Year
On TV, Astro GO, On Demand and the ZEE5 app
This Indian New Year, Astro celebrates with customers offering an exciting line up of local and international premieres on TV, Astro GO, On Demand and the ZEE5 app now on the Ultra and Ulti box. All Malaysians can also look forward to special Indian New Year shows on Astro Ulagam and RAAGA radio.
Prem Anand, Vice President, Indian Customer Business, Astro, said, As we welcome the Indian New Year with our customers, we are thrilled to offer a wide variety of local content across various formats and dialects such as telemovies, game shows, musicals, award shows and much more, in Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Telugu. Customers can also look forward to the premiere of localized popular American gameshow, Family Feud Malaysia Tamil from 3 June. We are happy to also share that Bollywood and Kollywood fans can now enjoy the ZEE5 app now on TV via the Ultra and Ulti Box for more of these favourites including original features, movies, best loved TV shows from Zee Network channels, and more. We thank our customers for their continuous support and wish those celebrating, Chithirai Puthandu Vaazhthugal, Vishu Ashamsakal, and Vaisakhi Diyan Lakh Lakh Vadhaiyan.
On the local front, customers can enjoy Tamil family drama telemovie Maya, showcase of an arts festival Shantanand Festival of Arts, talk show Chithirai Sirappu Rasipalan 2023, family drama series, Singapenney, and Malayalam family thriller telemovie Nigoodam on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201). In addition, customers can also tune in to game shows Teriyumma and Pasanga Series Puthandu Special, concert Padma Shree Hariharan Live in Putrajaya, comedy drama series Pasanga and localised game show, Family Feud Malaysia Tamil on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202) and Punjabi family comedy telemovie Ik Parivaar on BollyOne HD (Ch 251).
Customers can also look forward to premiering shows from India including:
Awards show Zee Golden Moments Awards 2023 and debate show Special Pattimandram, on Zee Tamil HD (Ch 223).
Family drama film The Great Indian Kitchen on Astro Vellithirai (Ch 203).
Romantic drama film Love Today on Astro Thangathirai (Ch 241).
Musical shows Deva The Deva and Tamizhisai Payanam and mythology film Karnan on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201).
Thriller film Driver Jamuna, biographical drama film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and drama action film Kantara as well as entertainment show, Grandstar Night on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202).
ZEE5 is the worlds largest platform for South Asian content and plays across 18 languages (12 Indian and 6 International languages) including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Punjabi and others, making it a perfect destination for avid fans of Indian and South Asian entertainment. For exclusive content and an ad-free experience, Astro customers can add on ZEE5 premium to their subscription for only RM10.60/month (RRP RM14.90) to start streaming all their favourite shows such as Tamil drama directed by popular filmmaker R. Kannan, The Great Indian Kitchen; romantic-comedy, Middle Class Love; comedy show, Kanjoos Makhichoos which will be comedian Raju Sritavs last movie appearance and United Kacche starring Sunil Grover, Sapna Pabbi and Nikhil Vijay.
All Malaysians can also stream New Year Maha Sangamam on digital platform, Astro Ulagam, for its first game show.
On the radio front, RAAGA invites all Malaysians to vote for their favourite contestants of Mr & Miss RAAGA, an online pageant via RAAGA website, from 10 until 13 April 2023. The two winners of will be crowned RAAGAs Thalapathy (Mr) and RAAGAs Apsara (Miss), taking home RM3,000 in cash each.
