POST Luxembourg Renews its Trust in Anevia to Extend PostTV Streaming and Cloud DVR Service

Anevia, a leading provider of OTT and IPTV software solutions, announces a large-scale extension of its NEA-DVR video streaming platform at POST Luxembourg, the premier supplier of telecom services in Luxembourg. This extension builds on POST Luxembourg's five-year success with Anevia's NEA-DVR .

First deployed in 2015, NEA-DVR has enabled POST Luxembourg not only to become a leader in its local market with PostTV, its multiscreen and cloud DVR offering, but also to offer OTT services to other operators throughout Europe.

NEA-DVR provides the packaging, streaming and recording facilities needed to prepare and deliver cloud DVR, catch-up, timeshift and live channels to mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, as well as personal computers and set-top boxes. Subscribers can record the programmes of their choice without needing any extra hardware.

This latest extension at POST Luxembourg introduces a dual-site architecture and confirms the trust of POST Luxembourg in Anevia's Embedded Distributed Storage (EDS) technology with a massive extension. EDS simplifies POST Luxembourg's operations with a single solution to secure both storage and streaming, making the streaming platform easy to maintain and to scale up. It also eliminates the need for network attached storage, reducing costs and energy consumption significantly. The dual-site architecture brings redundancy and resilience to ensure that all recordings are safe.

Following the success of our multiscreen service called PostTV, we needed to provide more capacity for both streaming and storage to support the increasing demand for non-linear services, says Georges Klosen, Head of Telecom Applications at POST Luxembourg. We also wanted to make sure that our subscribers' recordings would be delivered in any case, and that we could fulfil our commitments with third-party operators. That is why we opted for the dual-site architecture and for the scalability offered by Anevia's Embedded Distributed Storage technology.

Thanks to recent EU legislation on the cross-border portability of online content services, PostTV subscribers can access their 400 TV channels from anywhere in the European Union, says Igor Stankovic, Anevia Sales Director, Europe. This enables POST Luxembourg's IPTV offer to become a single cosmopolitan service one that is extremely well positioned to grab further market share.
