Vodacom, in partnership with Rocka, is on a mission to find South Africa s next big music superstar with the launch of a new TV show called The NXT LVL. The first screening of the weekly show aired on Mzansi Magic, DSTV channel 161 on Wednesday 04 October at 21h30 and will run for 10 weeks. The show is presented by renowned TV personality Denise Zimba alongside Mzansi s own music icons and show mentors; DJ Zinhle, Danny K, Euphonik, Riky Rick and Durban s Big Nuz.

Euphonik says: This is more than just a music show, it s about building future entrepreneurs. Successful artists are those that are able to build their brand beyond the stage .

Vodacom NXT LVL was launched in 2016 as a platform aimed at giving all young South Africans under the age of 25 the opportunity to follow their passions and realise their dreams by giving them access to all the things they love. This includes data, rewards and music. Moreover, it focuses on the development of talent through various platforms that focus on mentorship and coaching.

To be a successful artist, one requires more than just talent. This is one of many lessons our mentors have given to our five contestants. When Vodacom launched the NXT LVL Youth sub-brand, our aim was to ensure that we give the youth access to the things they love. We have been able to achieve this through a number of initiatives, one of which has been the successful NXT LVL soccer search in 2016. We do this in addition to offering some of the best value for money bundles in the market so our youth customers get the access to get to their NXT LVL, says Thami Silwana, executive head: Youth Segment.

To be selected to participate in this exciting show, Vodacom customers between the ages 18 to 24 were required to download the My Vodacom App, subscribe to the Vodacom NXT LVL platform and upload a video or audio clip of themselves singing; rapping or DJ ing. From the entries received, only five lucky acts were selected. The top five will compete for a prize worth R1 million, which is aimed at giving them full ownership of their Intellectual Property, and the support to manage their careers themselves.

The winner will be determined by public vote via SMS, and announced at the live show recording on 6 December.
