"Numbers" wins a Bronze at Ciclope International Film Festival

We feel extremely proud to have been recognized by the judges amongst the showcase of the very best global talent at the Ciclope awards this year. Janette De Villiers from Groundglass received the bronze award for the Numbers piece created in collaboration with Manuela Gray from Wildfire Tattoo Collective

Numbers is a hypnotic short-film revealing the hidden meanings behind the violent gangs of South Africa's prison tattoos. Turner Adams is one of South Africa's most notorious gang members, exposing his culture reality in Lavender Hill, Cape Flats to the world in this documentary short-film.

The 7th annual CICLOPE Festival was celebrated on the 3rd and 4th of November 2016 at Kino International in Berlin, Germany. CICLOPE is a prestigious film festival showcasing the very best technique of the craft in moving images. CICLOPE has been held annually since 2010 and attracts a high level of creative people, focusing on the art of execution of the work rather than the idea alone.

Some of the award show categories are, Direction, 3D Animation, Visual Effects, interactive Commercials and Original Music, each with subcategories under which there is only one Gold, Silver or Bronze awarded. A large pool of influential filmmakers was invited and attended, including some of the world's best directors, producers and creatives. The panel of highly acclaimed and respected judges from leading creative agencies and companies all over the world had their work cut out with over a thousand entries submitted for consideration.

Numbers is currently being developed further into a 24 minute episodic for TV by Director Manuela Gray - and Groundglass are currently in development on full length feature documentary on Turner Adams life story.
